Woodward, C(omer) Vann
(13 nov. 1908, Vanndale, Ark. EE.UU.–17 dic. 1999, Hamden, Conn.).

Historiador estadounidense. Se graduó en la Emory University en 1930 y obtuvo un doctorado en la Universidad de Carolina del Norte. Sus escritos The Strange Career of Jim Crow [La extraña carrera de Jim Crow] (1955) y The Burden of Southern History [El peso de la historia sureña] (1961) tratan sobre el sur de EE.UU. y la guerra civil, los que cambiaron la idea que tenía el resto del país sobre el sur. Editó Mary Chesnut's Civil War [La guerra civil de Mary Chesnut] (1981, Premio Pulitzer) y The Oxford History of the United States [La historia Oxford de Estados Unidos]. Al momento de su muerte, Woodword era profesor emérito en la Universidad de Yale.
